We’re delighted to be working towards a Coastline Clean Up for this year’s Isle of Wight Day. It’s amazing to see how many Islanders are excited to help us keep our beautiful island tidy!
In the spirit of taking care of our wonderful planet and minimising our use of plastic, we have taken the decision not to produce any more Isle of Wight Day bunting this year. We understand many of you enjoy flying the bunting (as do we!), so we urge you to re-use any bunting you may have, or make your own from fabric or other recyclable material!
Get Creative With Your Bunting!
Bunting making workshops and competitions will be taking place in the run up to Isle of Wight Day, so keep an eye out on our website and social media channels for dates and do go along, get involved and have fun with your bunting! We’d love to see the bunting flying for Isle of Wight Day as it always does, whether it’s wedding bunting, football bunting, or made from old sheets!
Fill Up Your Water Bottles With Plastic Aware’s Refill Scheme
We are working alongside Plastic Aware, who head up the Refill scheme across the island. We encourage all islanders out and about enjoying the festivities on Isle of Wight Day weekend to take their reusable bottles and cups and fill up at the establishments taking part, where you will be offered free water when you bring along a reusable cup.
Nip To The Beach For Our Coastline Clean Up
If you’d like to get involved in the Coastline Clean Up, we’d love to hear from you! We are looking for Volunteers and Ambassadors to help us organise the island’s biggest ever beach clean. With 67 miles of coastline to clean, we need all hands on deck! To join the team, head to our website to sign up: isleofwightday.com
