How to Join In…

Holding an event or activity to raise money for Isle of Wight Day can be held at anytime anywhere.

#IOWDay2017

Hold an Event?

We will showcase all events we know about and if they are public we can help promote.

We have a calendar of events so you can easily see what is happening and when.  On the weekend of IOW Day there will also be an App available to download so you can plan your time.

Routes, timings, road closures, parking, ticketed events and bunting distributors will all be clearly signposted. So what can you do?

  • Hang out bunting. Last year 75 miles of bunting was waved across the Island.  This year there will be over a 100 miles available to hang from every building, street, window, tree or flag pole.

  • Have a party. At home, at the office, on the beach, in the community centre, at school – this day is for you, so celebrate.

  • Have you a hidden talent or love being on stage? Then why not take part in Island’s Got Talent – check back soon for date of auditions and celebrity judging panel

  • Enter your school in the Spoken Word competition

  • Join the parade. Dance, walk, play, sing, march, drive – if you have a business, club, association, school, group, public service and want to have some fun and show your support for IOW Day then come and help us make the Parade the biggest the Island has ever seen. Contact Paddy for more info on how to get involved.

  • Hold a sporting event or be sponsored for a specific activity

  • Get a team together to enter one of the many Island activities throughout the year and be sponsored as an IOW Day team

  • Get on the water – whether surfer or sailor, join the Flotilla

Whatever you decide to do let us know and send us photos and videos.

So get your thinking caps on and come up with great ways to “Celebrate Together” on Isle of Wight Day.
