About Isle of Wight day
What is Isle of Wight Day?
Isle of Wight Day is the Island’s very own “Red Nose Day”, when the whole community is encouraged to celebrate by covering the Island in bunting, hold an event, take part in an event or just enjoy the hundreds of events being held all over the Island.
It’s about businesses, individuals, schools, clubs, associations, visitors coming together to raise money for local causes.
It’s about reunions and a day for family and friends to spend the weekend on the Island and to party with the whole community.
It’s a day to encourage visitors to come and enjoy the Island.
It’s about showcasing the Island’s talented people.
It’s about showing the world what a fabulous place the Island is.
Send us your images!
In 2016 and 2017 we received thousands of images. In 2016 we turned them into a beautiful coffee table book called “Celebrating Together” which can be purchased from many of the Island book shops and the IW County Press shop for a cost of £15. All profits will be donated to the Isle of Wight Day fund which will help fund Isle of Wight projects.
This year we are hoping that we will receive thousands of pictures again via social media and email. Please post your pictures and Tag us on Facebook & Twitter using @iowday or email .
