Are you a budding Picasso?
Niton and Whitwell parish council are running a children’s art competition to mark Isle of Wight Day on the 23rd September. Two classes: Under 7’s and 7 to 11 year olds. A picture or any artwork, at least A4 size, of anything to do with the Island (beach scene, picnic, family fun, Osborne House, steam railway etc). Two prizes in each section: £25 for the winner and £10 for the runner-up.
Organiser and parish councillor, Janice Young, said:
“Last year we won the best-dressed village cup on Isle of Wight Day. This year we wanted to offer something to stimulate local youngsters over the summer holidays.
“Niton Primary School and pre-school are both enthusiastic, and we’re also very grateful to Marianne for offering her expertise.”
Any child who either lives in, or has a strong connection with the parish, can enter. Names, age and contact details on the back of the entry.
Enter as many times as you like. Entries to be handed in to Edward Edwards library in Niton by Saturday, 9the September. Prizes will be presented on Isle of Wight day.
