To celebrate IoW day 2017 all employees at GKN Cowes were treated to an IoW day travel mug filled with tea or coffee by the senior management team and a stick of IoW corporate rock supplied by the Rock shop Shanklin. It was a fantastic opportunity to get together and celebrate the fact that GKN, a global industry & employer, is based here on the Island. GM, Garry Hernes told staff
“It is a pleasure to spend this tea break together and the event is to thank you for your hard work in keeping GKN part of this wonderful Island”
Tea and rock was initially served to late and night shift workers yesterday and continued into today.
This was followed by a raffle that island businesses had donated 47 prizes to with the final ticket drawn allowing the lucky holder, Luke Palmer, to donate the £1000+ cash raised to his favourite local charity.
