Carly iow dayI am a self-taught artist, painting for pleasure for over 20 years.  I paint any subject that grabs my attention, mainly beachscapes and seascapes, with particular focus to light on water and reflections. The beautiful coastline around our Island is a constant inspiration to me.  However, recent work has featured studies of seabirds and Gulls, aiming to capture their individual personalities. My pictures are painted in water-mixable oils, particularly for their unique blending quality and low odour.  Having spent many years working in education, I am now able to devote my entire time to painting and have made an excellent start in establishing myself as a full-time artist.

This year I have taught myself needlefelt and have completed a series of 3D Garden and Seabirds.

I take part in the IW Open Studio event and regularly exhibit with the Cowes Art Group several times a year.  I have shown my work in Art Galleries across the Island and shall be showing some pieces in a group exhibition at the New Rembrandt Gallery from 1st to 28th June.
