DINOSAURS are returning to the Island for the Isle of Wight Day celebrations.
As part of the celebrations on September 23, Chale village is celebrating its Cretaceous heritage with a day of fossils and dinosaurs.
The day will include a display of models and pictures of dinosaurs on the village green, a fossils and dinosaur bones display, a talk on dinosaurs and sex, and a dinosaur themed meal at the Wight Mouse Inn to finish off the day.
The timetable for the day is:
• 11am to 2pm – Fossils road show at Chale W.I hall.
• 3pm to 5pm – ‘Dinosaur creations’, a display of creative work on the Chale Green and at the Community Hut, Spanners Close.
• 6pm to 7.30pm – A talk on dinosaurs and reproduction by local expert Jeremy Lockwood.
• 8pm until late – A themed meal at the Wight Mouse. Bookings taken in advance.
